This morning after starting to sew my sashings onto a quilt block, I realized that I needed to write down some of my tips to myself ( so hopefully the same will not happen again) plus maybe help another quilter who stops by.
1. Always trim blocks to finished size before cutting sashing. Saves a ton of cutting time and fabric.
2. When sewing on sashings, borders and bindings I like to sew a 1/4 seam line down the opposite side, then press. For me it easier to match and keep the seams straight.
3. Pinning every 3 to 4 inches helps to keep the seams aligned while sewing.
As I think of things or learn, I will add them.
