Quilting Salvation

When I began quilting a few years ago, I would never have thought how benificial it is. It was just something to pass the time.
Now, I can not count the number of ways it has impacted my life. First and foremost it has opened the door for making some incredible friends. I will always treasure this above all other aspects of the hobby. Quilting has also helped my memory in many ways, it is rather hard to explain, but I do not think I am loosing as much information as I did a few years ago. It has increased my outlook about myself tremendously, giving me confidence and a desire to keep trying and taking another step forward. When stress is high it is a way to relax and forget troubles for a short time, think things through while sewing instead of jumping ahead without thinking is another example of its benefit. These are just a few....... I hope that I can quilt for the remainder of my life and that it continues to benefit my life.
There is one other major benefit that must be mentioned. I believe that every person who quilts experiences this one at some point (if not all of the time). It is the joy of giving and sharing the warmth and love that each stitch produces. Whether we give our quilts to family, friends or charities. I know I am a better person because of quilting each time I give a quilt away. It is such a great and inspirational feeling that it inspires me to get started right away on the next quilt that will bring warmth and happiness to someone else.
I am proud to be among the many people who quilt and share their work with the world! In these hard times we are facing it is grand knowing people still care and support and share everyday!
