AS THE DAYS GO BY.....

I have been working on my free motion quilting. It is a slow process when mixed in with all the other little "chores" that are needing to be dealt with.
I still have 5 blocks remaining. Next, comes the trimming each block and then adding sashing pieces, which leads to assembling and then the final step of binding.
I managed to sneak a start on a new quilt (I mentioned the site in my last blog). After seeing the pattern and method, I could not resist. LOL. After I printed the necessary pages, I had to proceed....so the fabric was selected and then cut into the pieces necessary. Oh this had to be continued....I sewed all of the necessary half square triangles and quarter square triangles. Then I spent time tearing away the paper pieces and gently put them in a container (in eyes view) to begin assembling when I finish the Sun Bonnet Sue Quilt.
The urge to create and explore got the better of me! But, my will to complete each quilt before starting a new one took over and it shall happen. I hope you get a chuckle out of this, how often do you do this?
Well, off to check on the roast and potatoes for dinner; my parents are coming over for the afternoon. We always have a good time. Have a great day!

  1. I know just what you mean about starting new projects before finishing others... Your sunnbonnet sue is so pretty--sunny and bright, feminine too. Have fun with the family!

  3. Oh my that is so pretty. I love, love, love the colors. I remember when I first started free motion quilting - oh my it was something else. I had to keep my mouth closed or a few choice words would probably have come out. Now I love it. You can get a quilt done so quickly and it just makes specific patterns (like the Sunnbonnet Sue you are doing) stand out. Have fun free motion quilting. Can't wait to see it all finished.

  4. What's wrong with starting something new before finishing something else. That's the only way to keep a running tab of UFO's....hehehehehehe
    Take care.

  5. Love the Sunbonnet Sue. I always have two or three projects on the go at one time. When I get bored or frustrated with ione I just switch across to the other one.
