I managed to finish the blocks late yesterday afternoon. While doing a few other household chores, Chicca of course had to take a nap on top of the stacked blocks.
After dinner was finished and dishes done, I began playing with the layout. This is what I decided I liked best. Then they were set aside until tomorrow.
But later on, the urge to assemble these blocks and truly see how they would look as a quilt took control. I could not resist and had to assemble them. This picture does not do the fabrics any justice, they look dull and lifeless; but they really are wonderful fabrics. Hopefully after I add the borders, the next picture will show the fabrics.
I am stumped at this time as to what I am going to do to finish off this quilt top. I began browsing some magazines and books for inspiration, but nothing really stood out. I will have to play with some ideas today and figure out exact remaining fabric is available and then go from there.
To all of you who are facing these freezing temperatures without power, my thoughts and prayers go out to you. I realize you will not be able to read this, but just wanted to mention that we are thinking of you!
