SORRY I AM NOT POSTING VERY OFTEN

But with hubby not working, it is totally different schedule. He gets the computer the majority of the time, I get to sew the majority of the time. LOL. Of course there are job searches and what not for him and housework and whatnot for me also. Do we not lead the most exciting life! Really though, aside from Kevin not working, we like our laid back, unbusy, uncomplicated lifestyle.

Recently, I received a package from my friend Karol-Ann (I forgot to take a picture, so sorry). The package was filled with scraps of material. I was inspired to use them in a new scrappy method I discovered while looking at an old quilting book.

(Not the one pictured). You take all of your scraps sew them together in any method you chose. I chose crazy blocks and strips. Then you select a width and begin cutting strips. You basically are creating your own material strips to do with as you please. You can continue to sew them into long strips and make a quilt or do like I am going to do. Which is cut them into squares and use them in a selected pattern. I have not gotten to that point....just finished trimming them into 3 inch strips last night.

Chicca has been most helpful with this project. She makes sure the fabric is soft enough to take a nap on, that she is in a position that requires me to stop and pet her as often as possible and I know she secretly is laughing because I have to reach under her now and then to pull out the fabric pieces. I thought using a small plastic (its actually a santa claus cookie server) bowl would make it easier to reach and sort than in my big storage unit. What was I thinking!

Well off I go to begin cutting and sewing another quilt!

  2. Hi Brenda! Your quilt, the one that I last commented on...is gorgeous, great job! Chicca is very smart, Princess Bubbles knows what she's doing too when she sits on my feet when I stitch. :) Hope you have a great weekend, friend!
