I GOT A BOO BOO

Dodger is so worried and watching over me with her wonderful so sad eyes and droopy ears.

Oh we have all heard the story and reminded ourselves thousands of times,  ROTARY BLADES ARE DANGEROUS, but yes I got the edge of my thumb and cut off a good couple layers of skin.  Thankfully I had a fairly long nail that took the majority of the injury.

I am not exactly sure how it happened....either the ruler slipped or the mat slipped and my thumb got in the way.  Thankfully no stains got on the quilt block I was attempting to square up.  The camera batteries are dead or I would post a picture of the hand embroidered blocks that my daughters Godmothers Mother made.  I need to square them all up (12 blocks) add border strips to make them 16 and a half square and join them with some applique blocks I am making....then assemble and hopefully create a wonderful quilt for Godma Connie.

But, I do believe I will hold off for a couple days before attempting to accomplish any more of this project.  I am discovering very quickly that with a thumb bandaged the size of  Wyoming (LOL) it is actually quite difficult to do things.  Great time to get out the cross stitch piece I am working on and see if I can manaveur a needle in and out.

I hope that your day quilting is far less "exotic"  and no boo boo's of any kind!

  1. Brenda, I'm so happy that you didn't do too much damage. It's amazing how quickly those rotary blades can get away from you.
    Take care.

  3. Yike! I'm so glad your accident wasn't too serious! Just today I was trimming blocks and thinking I need to slow down a bit and be more careful. Now I know why... hope you are all back to normal soon!

And thanks for the nice comment on my blog. Have a great week!
