Making Progress

I just finished sewing the last row section together for the woven paths quilt I am working on. I am so anxious to see what the blocks will look like; but that will take time also. I am going to sew two rows together (like one and two; three and four) then sew the one and two to the three and four sections. I hope that makes sense, it does to me but I am the one doing it. I keep looking at one of the colors I choose and wondering if it was the correct one. It goes with all of the colors, but I just can not decide if I like it with the group of colors. Of course, there is no need to ponder over this--because I did choose it, cut it and sew it in its precise position so there is no turning back. Will have to wait until the blocks are completed to make my final decision.

I also think it has to do with the weather. One of the colors is a dark blue with white flowers, one is red with a design, one is a light blue and then the brown. I have to wonder if I chose the dark blue and light blue because of the way the sky keeps changing (one day it is bright and sunny, the next it is overcast and spitting rain or pouring rain) the red because my tulips are all red- but they will not open up it continues to be to cold, and then the brown because it is really rather bland and depressing (my feeling about not being able to go and play in the dirt).

I am close to going and playing in the dirt just because I want to...but I really do not like cold and wet to play in. I prefer 75 to 85 and loads of dry dirt and grass.
I will stop complaining and go back to sewing. I am really considering learning how to hand sew. I do embroidery and enjoy, have been told it is similiar (but different at the same time) and should be able to learn. I have to think on it a little more tonight.

  1. Brenda,
I can't wait to see a pic of your quilt you are putting together. I don't know what that pattern looks like. On the quilt I'm sewing, I have the pieced blocks done (rail fence blocks), and the big solid squares that go in-be-tween cut also. So tomorrow I hope to start putting them together. Have a great day sewing tomorrow, unless it is finally nice enought there to garden. Yesterday we had snow flurries, but nothing stuck (thank goodness!!)
