FRIENDS ARE WONDERFUL

A very good friend of mine allowed me to use her quilting frame to baste all of the quilts I have to do together. It is much easier to do the basting on a quilt frame than the other methods I have tried. It just takes a little time and effort to get the layers all snug and at the same tightness. Place the clamps on the corners and then begin basting. This whole process including the basting took me about 5 hours.

This is the quilting frame all set up. I am basting a small quilt that I received in a grab bag of scraps at a garage sale. Could hardly believe that she included a whole quilt top in a grab bag, but she did and so now it will be a whole quilt once I machine quilt it. Excuse the background mess, we are going to have a garage sale sometime in September; so things are a complete mess in the garage. Especially after moving it all around to make room for the quilting frame.

This is one of the corners; all held snug by a clamp.

Just a photo of my basting stitches.

Now that I have it all basted it is ready to be machine quilted. I already have one quilt I am hand quilting. Since she has been so generous and said no hurry to get it back, I am going to baste all of my quilt tops and then quilt them. Kevin and I have decided that we are going to invest in the saw horses and other materials needed for my very own quilt frame. Hooray! But it will take a tad bit of time to get it all just a piece here and there. Guess I had best go and get started on the next one.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by and leaving comments. I really appreciate it!!!
