MYSTERY QUILT
This is my version of the mystery quilt OLD TOBACCO ROAD from Quiltville. My layout is totally different from the pattern, but I really like the way it turned out. I also went totally scrappy in every aspect. My goal must be reached of using up tons of odd scraps. I added a red border around it (hubby took the camera with him so I can not download the picture with the border on it).
My original plan was to use this with another quilt top, but I have been out voted by my hubby, my quilting friend Maureen and my mom and dad. LOL. Which is fine, I just now have one other unfinished quilt project. One more back to make, me oh my, I had best get busy.
I started a "house" quilt block from the Quiltville site. It is another fabulous way to use up all my odd scraps. I am really enjoying these blocks, they go together so quickly and without a lot of seams to match. These blocks will make a great backing for one of the quilts. LOL. I do not believe I will show the finished back to anyone around me until it is quilted! LOL

Nice job,Brenda! This quilt is so pretty and colorful, too. Pinwheels (love them) and four-patch are among my favorites. I am going to visit Quiltville--thanks.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great looking quilt, really cheerful. I'm in the midst of making a houses quilt too - I'm using all different types of houses, free pieced from Lazy Gal Tonya's site, foundation pieced, Bonnie's houses, and another measured house block I found. Really scrappy, but fun and should look good when it's finished I hope.
ReplyDeleteHey there, love the quilt, i love scrappy looks too. I added the pictures on the wrong day you can go back and see if you have time. Take care my friend.Hugs, Marie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Brenda! My husband's grandmother used to use all her scraps like this too. I have several of the quilts that she made and will pass them down to my children.
ReplyDeleteYour OTR turned out beautiful! I like your layout a lot
