READY FOR A BREAK

The last month has been filled with all kinds of "turmoil". One of the things going on was rebuilding our back deck. When we first moved in the deck was covered with the green outdoor carpet...not bad looking except it was bookooo years old and had rips, pieces missing and parts that were molding. I managed to convince the landlord to remove it. Only to discover that the wood underneath was rotting away, big holes in sections, places you were very afraid to step on in case it decided to give way. Well, it is rebuilt now. I have to repaint the guard rails and this next spring it will be sealed with a waterproof sealant (something about it has to dry out for about 6 months before the sealant can be applied). Sure looks great compared to before.

Of course there was all the garage sale activities, daily activities, we took a drive to Roseburg yesterday to see DH daughters. Today, I went with my father to Medford to check on his heart monitors ...not real encouraging to say the least. By the time we got back, I am exhausted from all this chaos of going here and there and doing all of this and that. My brain has got to stop and do nothing at all for a few days or I will be having seizures. Then, I will tackle my housecleaning.

In the mail I did receive a neat ruler from Amanda. She had an extra one and was giving this one away. It is going to be so helpful in cutting squares. Plus, I received a postcard from Holly. I just love postcards. So big THANKS to both of you for making my day brighter and easier!

Now, I am going to check in on everyones blogs and see what you have all been up to; I have not been sewing much at all and I miss it.

  2. It sounds as if you really do need to take a break from sorting everyone else out and take some time for yourself. A bit of sewing might just fit the bill.

  3. You've been busy. I think you deserve your rest. Just sit down on your new deck with a book and spend a few hours watching the world go by. Housework can wait.

    Love and hugs Gina xxx

  4. Bless your heart. Life always gets in the way, doesn't it? Lock yourself in your sewing room and post a sign saying, "Don't even think about it!" That should buy you some time to yourself.
