THE SUMMER SOLSTICE QUILT ALONG PART 3

FLYING GEESE

Melissa on her blog Happy Quilting is doing a Quilt Along called Summer Solstice Quilt Along  (the link is above).  I have been following Melissa for quite some time, but honestly, being pretty quite and mainly only commenting on her give away posts.  I was pretty intimidated by her enormous achievements that were published and beautiful also.  Have you ever felt that way?

Yet, when I saw the Quilt Along Pattern, I knew I wanted to create one!  So here I am on step 3, almost all the way caught up.  I still have to trim those little dog ears.  LOL.  But it is hard for me to get time on the main computer (my lap top is limited in what it can do) and today is a great day; hubby is away for a few hours.  With her excellent instructions and pictures, it is so easy to get the steps done in no time.  Well, except for the fact that you just can not rush or take away the time that it actually takes to sew, press, trim and so forth.  LOL.

The next step,  will be out August 4th and with all the fabrics precut, I am ready to learn how to the Drunkards Path.  I am really looking forward to this because this is a block I have never tried before due to my fear.  Only in the last year, I have gained a lot of courage and concurred quite a bit of fears by trying and learning new techniques and skills.  This time it will be the Drunkards Path and with the way that Melissa teaches, I know that this fear is going to washed away in very short order.

I really recommend that you click on the link and check out this Quilt Along.  Once you have the Fabrics all prepared and cut out it goes fairly quickly!  I had gotten really behind which is why you have seen no other posts about this up until today.  I will be creating posts for each of my steps and posting them as soon as possible by the way.  But with me being pretty much at least 2 weeks behind, over the course of 3 days, I am completely caught up.  Plus, in those 3 days, I had to cut a bunch of extra material because the materials that I had chosen, well I discovered that the person who this is being given to did not like 4 of the fabrics.  So, I had to cut that all out.  LOL.  Good thing this friend is well worth it!

Enough of my blabbering.  If you are new to my blog, be forewarned I enjoy sharing and talking (well writing)!  I would love to hear and read your thoughts/comments and will get back to you as soon as I can!  Have a fantastic creative day!
